As the title implies, this work references the idea of a metaphorical garden. As the waiting rooms have no windows, the artwork evokes the outdoors, bringing nature inside. The elements are sparse in some areas, singular or small in scale, but complex and rich in detail. The composition allows air to circulate, creating a sense of spaciousness from a distance. Reciprocally, the detailed areas invite people inward, inviting curiosity.

The word “conversation” in the title refers to how elements in the artwork reflect back on each other, in a way speaking to each other; one piece informs the other. Also, playing with the idea of micro and macro, some of the images made in mosaic are details of other fabric imagery seen on another section of the artwork. Some areas have solid colour, allowing the eye to rest. They are like an open window for viewers to create their own version of the conversation.
