Sugar Coated

This work addresses the literal debates surrounding “taste” within decoration in the domestic setting and also plays off of the Design Reformation movement against “over-the-top” decorative practices of the 17th and 18th centuries. The designs used for this wall installation were a combination of classic cake decorating designs as well as tile and ironwork designs from 17th and 18th century architectural designers.
