This MCCCF public art commission (Quebec percent for art program) is for a seniors centre on Montreal’s South Shore. The artwork consists of 5 separate designs, one for each floor of the 5-storey addition to the existing centre. Each design, blending traditional quilt designs and geometric abstraction, will be fabricated in ceramic. The final pieces will be approx. 50″ x 50″. They are being fabricated at Mosaika Art & Design in Montreal.
These images are of the early stages of the design and the ceramic and mosaic fabrication.
